2014 State Flower Show Chairwoman, Carol Lucia, Visits CGC for a Design Demonstration
Bringing her experience, creativity and dynamic style, 2014 FFGC State Flower Show Chairwoman, Carol Lucia, treated CGC members to a wonderful demonstration of floral design on Friday, Jan 9, 2015.
Crafting four different types of design, she demonstrated how to use the basic principals of design to create wonderful centerpieces, table settings and arrangements for entertaining and decorating.
Explaining some of the basic principals of design, like color, line, balance, tension, and proportion, she showed how to effectively use these principals to create pieces that are pleasing to the eye and professional in quality. She also touched on the benefits of using different mediums, container sizes, and placement technique.
Carol will be teaching classes at St. Pete Garden Club and Temple Terrace Garden Club later this year, and all garden club members are welcome to attend any of these classes. Contact the host garden clubs for more information on the schedule and the fees.
Experienced designer, author and CGC member, Helen Hoskins, was also in attendance to share her tips and techniques with members who are new to floral design. Helen's book on floral design is also a great resource for members as they are learning floral design.
